For artists — detailed guide

Part of Caribbean Jazz Expo

Your place in the programme

These briefs explain how each contribution can support CJE’s overall success. They are invitations to explore an agreed role, not automatic appointments or editorial grants.

Everyone is welcome to propose a contribution. Only a representative explicitly approved by the Merchant may control wording and imagery in an assigned CJE section. An enquiry, stakeholder role or expression of interest gives no editorial access. CJE retains publication control; permissions for official statements, brands and imagery still apply.

Come for a defined creative experience—not a vague promise of exposure.

The proposed offer

Develop your Caribbean-rooted work in Dominica, meet selected collaborators, present it live and leave with a documented next step. Jazz ’n Dine has run for three years; the chance to perform at this established event is a key part of the offer and a proposed route toward consideration for the Jazz ’n Creole main stage. Accommodation will be included in the eventual quoted participation package; talents pay and arrange their own travel to Dominica.

  • A written itinerary and confirmed accommodation specification, including dates, room type, occupancy and inclusions.
  • An agreed performance or presentation opportunity where selected, with a named production contact.
  • Optional destination video, music-video production, studio sessions and fringe-event participation only when confirmed and scheduled.
  • Proposed CaribVision exposure, subject to broadcaster agreement, rights clearance and airtime funding. Paid airtime may be included only if its exact deliverable is contracted.

Selection is not a purchase

Paid accommodation or creative services must not buy a favourable review, a DFC booking, a Jazz ’n Creole selection or a World Creole Music Festival slot. Artistic assessment and any commercial package are separate decisions. You may request a decision before committing to non-refundable travel.

  • Submit an EPK, a strong live video, your original music, country, technical requirements and proposed collaboration interests.
  • Declare your team size, availability and access needs without sending passports or sensitive medical details through the public form.
  • Receive a written explanation of what is confirmed, proposed, excluded and subject to selection.

Know the economics before you commit

  • Travel, visas or entry requirements, instruments, excess baggage and travel insurance remain the talent’s responsibility unless expressly funded.
  • Accommodation is priced and specified within the confirmed package—not assumed to be free.
  • Meals, airport transfers, island transport, studio hours, filming, broadcast rights and airtime each need an explicit inclusion or exclusion.
  • Any performance fee, participation fee, sales income or revenue share is stated separately, in its contractual currency.
  • No payment request until supplier availability, refund terms and delivery obligations have been agreed. No guaranteed television reach, press coverage, follower growth or later booking.

Your work and your welfare

Use existing talent profiles, Show Packages and agreed commercial documents. Written permissions define recording, edits, territory, duration, releases, credits and approved excerpts. Participation is not a blanket transfer of copyright or image rights. Safeguarding, accessibility and a private complaints route must be confirmed before delivery.
