International music connections — detailed guide

Part of Caribbean Jazz Expo

Your place in the programme

These briefs explain how each contribution can support CJE’s overall success. They are invitations to explore an agreed role, not automatic appointments or editorial grants.

Everyone is welcome to propose a contribution. Only a representative explicitly approved by the Merchant may control wording and imagery in an assigned CJE section. An enquiry, stakeholder role or expression of interest gives no editorial access. CJE retains publication control; permissions for official statements, brands and imagery still apply.

An invitation to connect proven artistic work with a bounded Caribbean development and exchange programme.

The opportunity

Caribbean Jazz Expo proposes a practical bridge between artists, Dominican live experiences and international music-business relationships. Jazz ’n Dine and the published work of Lí-Lí Octave are starting evidence, not claims that a large international Expo has already been delivered.

Three conversations worth having

  • A bookable artistic experience with an approved EPK, live evidence, touring configuration and a named representative.
  • A reciprocal programming or artist-development collaboration with dates, costs and responsibilities.
  • A music-and-destination or broadcast relationship that supports a concrete creative output.

Learning without claiming affiliation

WOMEX, CANEX WKND and comparable cultural-industry gatherings demonstrate the value of professional discovery, curated programming, connections and follow-through. Our programme applies those principles at a scale we can deliver. Inspiration is not endorsement, official affiliation or a claim to reproduce their business models.

WOMEX 2026

WOMEX runs 21–25 October 2026 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Its official 2026 proposal call is closed. Our appropriate immediate route is meetings, legitimate delegate participation and partnership discussions—not an invented official showcase slot. An audience with WOMEX leadership is an opportunity to discuss cooperation, not evidence that cooperation is already agreed.

What a partnership could achieve

  • A defined pilot introduction or exchange, rather than a vague memorandum without delivery.
  • Professional review of the artist proposition and feedback on international readiness.
  • A properly prepared future showcase application, retaining the organiser’s independent selection process.
  • Follow-up milestones that lead to an actual booking, co-production, release or funded development activity.
